Nissan Rogue Canada
The Nissan Rogue is a compact crossover SUV manufactured by Nissan which arrived at Canadian dealers in 2008, The Rogue follows the same stylish design Nissan used with the larger Nissan Murano and later followed a similar concept with the Nissan Juke. Following the same idea of sharing a sedan platform between the Nissan Altima and Nissan Murano, Nissan used the Nissan Sentra C-platform for the Nissan Rogue which allows for better performance and handling. The Nissan Rogue made its first debut at the 2007 International AutoShow in Detroit, in Canada the Nissan Rogue replaces the Nissan X-Trail which continues to be sold in Mexico and Europe along side the Rogue.
The Nissan Rogue is powered by a 2.5L 4-cilinder engine with 170HP which it shares with the Nissan Altima and sporty Sentra SE-R Spec-V, coupled with a CVT (continuously variable transmission) which significantly improves fuel economy which enables the engine to run at its most efficient revolutions per minute for a range of speeds, the standard Rogue is equipped with front wheel drive with optional AWD in both the Rogue S and SL trim. In Japan and Australia the Rogue is offered as the Nissan Qashqai which uses the same platform and engine with a similar design,
The 2010 Rogue was named the Best Buy Award by Consumers Digest's and received a 5 star crash rating by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The 2011 Nissan Rogue received a minor redesign with new Rogue S and SV trim models and a Rogue S Krom trim which adds 18 inch rims, sport tuned exhaust, new front grill and fog lamps, while the Rogue SV has an optional special SL package which includes leather seats, touch screen GPS navigation system, satellite radio with extra premium features shared with the 2014 Nissan Murano.
The newly released 2014 Nissan Rogue is built on a longer platform which allows for an optional 3rd row/7 passenger seating, it carries over the same 2.5L engine with 175HP also shared with the big brother Murano, at first glance the Rogue steps out of Murano’s shadow and starts looking more like a compact 2014 Pathfinder while it doesn’t have the same rugged 4x4 options, the 2014 Rogue has an optional powered tailgate hatch which is always attractive and a fully redesigned interior.
